Apple is gearing up for its ‘Unleashed’ event tonight, where new MacBook Pros are expected.
Today is the Apple Unleashed October Live Event: Apple’s October 2021 (18 Oct 2021) event will take place tonight, with a focus on the new MacBook Pros, which will have a new display, design, and processor. Apple’s ‘Unleashed’ event will be webcast live on the company’s official website and YouTube channel at 10.30 p.m. tonight (10 a.m. Pacific standard time). As with the previous few launches, Apple’s event will be streamed live from its Cupertino headquarters.
Apple is likely to announce new MacBook Pros in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, all of which will be powered by Apple’s own ‘M’ series processors. The ‘M1X’ CPU family is likely to replace the Intel MacBooks that now power the 16-inch MacBook series. The new MacBook Pro is also believed to have a redesigned design that does away with the TouchBar. At the launch, a new Mac Mini with the M1X processor is also expected. At the event, Apple’s AirPods 3 will also be on display.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM APPLE’S ‘UNLEASHED’ EVENT OCT 2021:
Today’s Apple event: New MacBook Pro models, as well as AirPods 3 and other products, could be announced.
Apple’s Mac was completely reliant on Intel for high-performance CPUs. Cupertino changed the game last year when it announced that its new laptops and desktops would utilize bespoke M1 silicon instead of Intel processors. The business is expected to introduce a more powerful “M1X” CPU, which will power its high-end MacBook Pros aimed at creative professionals, at Monday’s presentation. For the first time, Apple CEO Tim Cook and other executives will show out previews of the next-generation MacBook Pros with a “pro-level” Mac mini desktop during the company’s second autumn event of the year.
THE “M1X chip”:
Apple’s unique M1 silicon is used in the 13-inch MacBook Pro, 24-inch iMac, and MacBook Air. The chipset is quick, uses little power, and has a long battery life. But M1 was only the beginning of what Apple’s Silicon team is capable of. The M1X, or whatever it’s called, isn’t going to be able to take the place of the original M1 CPU. Instead, the new chipset will power the current higher-end Macs on the market, such as the Intel-based 16-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini.
The M1X’s actual specifications are unknown, but we do know that it will have additional processing cores, GPU cores, and support for more external monitors, among other things. According to a report from last year, this new high-performance CPU will have up to 16 performance cores and either 16 or 32 GPU cores, compared to the M1’s seven or eight cores.
NEW MacBook Pros :
The MacBook Pro is a well-known product. For years, they’ve been an essential element of the Mac lineup, catering to certain “pro” customers. Apple is most likely to introduce two MacBook Pros, one with a 14-inch screen and the other with a 16-inch screen, at its Monday presentation. The bundled M1X CPU, which will be strong enough to match the demands of graphic designers and producers, will be a significant shift.
The design shift is the most talked-about aspect of the new MacBook Pros this year. When the new MacBook Pro was revealed in 2016, the final major design overhaul occurred. According to rumors, the next MacBook Pros will have flat edges, similar to the iPhone 13 Pro and iPad Pro.
A high-refresh screen with tiny LED technology, a full-sized HDMI port, an SD card reader, a 1080p webcam, and three Thunderbolt connections for connecting to external monitors are among the other improvements. Apple might potentially ditch the touch bar in favor of a row of physical function keys.
New Mac mini:
The current Mac mini is a speedy desktop computer geared at consumers on a budget. However, questions continue to be asked about what Apple is doing to make the Mac mini exciting. The truth is that Apple hasn’t done much to entice users to update their mac minis. Given that the Mac mini hasn’t been updated in years, experts anticipate a high-end tiny computer during Apple’s announcement on Monday.
While the Mac mini did acquire the M1 processor last year, it wasn’t quite a game-changer. It’s adequate for routine chores, such as simple photo and video editing. However, the next-generation Mac mini will be significantly altered. The M1X processor will be installed first.
According to sources, the new Mac Mini will have the same design as the current model but would be reduced in size and footprint. The redesigned Mac mini will have a “plexiglass-like” top that will sit above the aluminum enclosure, according to YouTuber Jon Prosser. According to Prosser, the new Mac mini will include the same magnetic power port as in the 24-inch iMac.
The new Mac mini will come with the same connectors as the Intel-based Mac mini, including four Thunderbolt ports, two USB-A ports, Ethernet, and HDMI. Expect the next Mac mini to be more expensive than the current model.
What’s the big deal about the MacBook Pro?
The Apple MacBook Pro, which will receive Apple’s M-series processor, will be the highlight of tonight’s activities. This is a much-anticipated improvement. The last major design change occurred in 2016, and Apple is likely to unveil something completely new after almost five years. The design will be flatter, and a new mini LED display will be included, as well as the more powerful M1X family of processors, which may include 16 and 32-core GPU options. Apple is also likely to increase the RAM on the M series processors beyond 16GB.
