“For a long time in post-independence India, health infrastructure did not receive the attention it deserved, and inhabitants were forced to go from pillar to post in search of competent treatment, resulting in deterioration of the situation and financial burden.”
“Government at the federal and state levels recognises the suffering of the impoverished, oppressed, backward, and middle classes.”“Through Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat’s Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, a comprehensive ecosystem for services ranging from treatment to crucial research would be established in every part of the country.”
“Along with health, the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is also a medium of aatmnirbharta.”“The heart and mind of Kashi are the same, but earnest attempts are being made to improve the body.”
PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also launched a number of development projects in Varanasi, totaling over Rs 5200 crore. On the occasion, the Governor and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Union Ministers, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya and Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, State Ministers, and people’s representatives were present.
The Prime Minister told the crowd that in the fight against the corona epidemic, the country had reached a critical milestone of 100 crore vaccine doses. “With Baba Vishwanath’s blessings, Maa Ganga’s unwavering splendour, and the people of Kashi’s unwavering trust, the campaign of free immunisation for all is continuing smoothly,” the Prime Minister stated.
The Prime Minister bemoaned the fact that, in post-independence India, health facilities did not receive the necessary attention for a long time, and inhabitants were forced to go from pillar to post in search of proper care, exacerbating the situation and putting them under financial burden. This instilled a fear of medical treatment in the hearts of both the middle class and the destitute. Those whose governments stayed in the country for a long period, instead of investing in the country’s healthcare system as a whole, kept it underdeveloped.
MAIN ASPECTS OF THIS HEALTH MISSION
PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, according to the Prime Minister, attempts to address this shortcoming. In the next 4-5 years, the goal is to improve the vital healthcare network from village to block to district to regional and national levels. The Prime Minister described the government’s programme as the Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, which has three primary features to address the country’s various inadequacies in the health sector.
The first is focused on the creation of advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities. As part of this plan, health and wellness centres with facilities for early disease diagnosis are being constructed in villages and cities. Free medical consultations, testing, and drugs will be available at these locations. 35 thousand new critical care-related beds will be added in 600 districts, with referral facilities in 125 districts.
The second aspect of the scheme, according to the Prime Minister, is the disease-diagnosis testing network. The essential infrastructure for disease detection and monitoring will be established as part of this goal. Integrated Public Health labs will be built in 730 districts across the country, and Block Public Health Units will be built in 3000 blocks.
Apart from that, the Prime Minister stated that 5 Regional National Centers for Disease Control, 20 Metropolitan units, and 15 BSL labs will be added to the network.
According to the Prime Minister, the third factor is the growth of current pandemic research organisations. Existing viral diagnostic and research labs will be strengthened, 15 biosafety level 15 labs will be operationalized, four new national institutes of virology will be constructed, and a national institute for one health will be established.
This network will be strengthened via the WHO regional research platform for South Asia. “This means that the Prime Minister’s Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission would build a complete ecosystem for services ranging from treatment to crucial research in every corner of the country,” the Prime Minister explained.
The Prime Minister emphasised the potential for these steps to create jobs, stating that the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission is a medium of aatmnirbharta in addition to health. “It’s all part of the endeavour to provide comprehensive health care. That is, healthcare that is both affordable and accessible to everyone.” According to Shri Modi, holistic healthcare focuses on both health and wellness.
Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ujjwala, Poshan Abhiyan, and Mission Indradhanush have all helped to rescue millions of people from sickness. More than 2 crore impoverished individuals have received free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna, and Ayushman Bharat Digital has resolved several health-related difficulties.
The Prime Minister stated that today there is a federal and state administration that understands the plight of the impoverished, oppressed, backward, and middle classes. The Prime Minister stated, “We are working day and night to improve health facilities in the country.”
According to the Prime Minister, the rate at which new medical institutions are established in Uttar Pradesh would have a significant impact on the number of medical seats and doctors available in the state. Due to the increased number of seats, children from low-income families will now be able to realise their dream of becoming a doctor, he noted.
One of the key achievements of Kashi in recent years, according to the Prime Minister, has been BHU’s progress toward global excellence. “Today, unprecedented facilities are being built in BHU, ranging from technology to health. He noted that “young friends from all across the country are coming here to study.”
