In India, the 1st of November is significant because several states celebrate founding or foundation days, such as Madhya Pradesh Formation Day, Haryana Day, Kerala Piravi, and so on. Happy November 1st, 2021!
1. WORLD VEGAN DAY:
Every year on November 1st, vegans all around the world commemorate World Vegan Day. Activities such as setting up stalls, holding potlucks, and planting memorial trees are used to highlight the benefits of veganism for humans and the environment. The Vegan Society in the United Kingdom’s Louise Wallis founded the event in 1994 to honour the 50th anniversary of the organization’s inception and the coining of the terms “vegan” and “veganism.” Louise Wallis, speaking in 2011, said:
“We knew the Society was created in November 1944, but we didn’t know the precise date, so I chose November 1st, partially because it coincided with Samhain/Halloween and the Day of the Dead — traditional feasting and celebration occasions, both suitable and auspicious.”
