James Webb space telescope
The James Webb space telescope is an infrared space telescope that will study the early cosmos, which is estimated to be between one million and a few billion years old. NASA plans to launch the massive $10 billion James Webb Space Telescope in December, which is billed as the successor to the ageing Hubble Space Telescope.
About Webb space telescope:-
The James Webb Space Telescope will be launched into orbit by NASA on Dec. 18, 2021, and will function as the world’s most powerful deep space observatory for the next decade.
After Webb successfully completed its arduous testing regimen — a crucial turning point for the mission – the agency set a new target launch date in collaboration with Arianespace. The new launch date comes after Arianespace successfully launched an Ariane 5 rocket in late July and is planning a launch ahead of Webb. The Ariane 5 was launched for the first time in July since August 2020.
At Northrop Grumman’s facility in Redondo Beach, California, the very complicated space telescope is currently resting in its final storage configuration.
“Webb is a shining example of perseverance,” said Gregory L. Robinson, Webb’s programme director at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “Our devoted team and global collaborations have made this tremendous initiative possible, and they have inspired me.”
“The Webb crew is getting ready for shipment operations, which will include final closeout procedures and packing for the observatory’s journey to the launch site. The main components of the Ariane 5 rocket that will launch Webb into orbit have arrived safely in Kourou, French Guiana.
The innovation technology:-
The innovative technology of the Webb telescope will allow scientists to study every period of cosmic history, from our own solar system to the farthest detectable galaxies in the early cosmos, and everything in between. Webb will make fresh and unexpected findings that will aid humanity in understanding the universe’s beginnings and our place within it.

About the mission:-
It’s a ten-year mission.

Webb will view the universe at wavelengths that are usually longer than what humans can see (0.38 to 0.7 micrometres) and what the Hubble Space Telescope can see, but shorter than most of Spitzer’s range. This infrared vision allows telescopes to see through dust clouds and observe beyond.
