India’s Deputy Representative to the UN, R Ravindra, highlighted the country’s strong condemnation of the attacks on Israel and the loss of civilian lives in the ongoing conflict. He emphasized the importance of international law and humanitarian law being upheld in all circumstances.
Ravindra also called for safe and timely humanitarian aid for Gaza and unrestricted access to essential services. He praised the efforts of Qatar and Egypt in engaging with Israeli and Palestinian leaders.
India continues to support a two-state solution, advocating for a sovereign and independent Palestinian state alongside Israel. The country has provided over $120 million in development assistance to Palestine, including $35 million to UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
India reiterated its commitment to working towards peace and stability in the region.
