PIN Code, or Postal Index Number, is a six-digit numeric code used by India Post in its postal system. It is normally found at the end of every complete address in India. Shriram Bhikaji, the then-additional Secretary in the Ministry of Communications, was the first to develop the PIN Code on August 15, 1972.
