The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Ashish Pandey, a member of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) youth wing and an employee at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, regarding the rape and murder of a doctor. The interrogation lasted for several hours at the CBI’s office.
Pandey’s phone number was found in the contact lists of several individuals involved in the case. He had also stayed at a hotel in Salt Lake with a female companion on the day the doctor’s body was discovered. The CBI is investigating his movements and activities during that period.
The CBI has requested information from the hotel regarding Pandey’s bookings and payments. The hotel room was reserved through an app and Pandey stayed from the afternoon of August 9th to the following morning. The CBI is trying to determine the purpose of his stay at the hotel.
The body of the trainee doctor was found on August 9th at the hospital, causing widespread anger and outrage across the country.
