Two men, Viraj and Punyashray Sharma, died after their SUV became trapped in a flooded underpass in Faridabad. Despite barricades and warnings from police, they ignored the instructions and drove into the flooded area.
The SUV was submerged, trapping the men inside. Passersby managed to rescue them, but Viraj died at the scene. Sharma was taken to the hospital but also passed away.
Police confirmed that warnings were in place about the flooded underpass, and a barricade was erected to prevent vehicles from entering. However, the driver of the SUV, Viraj, removed the barricade and proceeded through the underpass.
A colleague of the victims suggested that Viraj, being new to the Delhi-NCR area, may not have been aware of the flooded conditions.
