Heavy rains have caused widespread waterlogging in Pune and Kolhapur, disrupting normal life. Schools are closed and numerous apartments in Pimpri-Chinchwad are flooded. Sadly, three people died after being electrocuted while walking through waterlogged streets.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed three teams to assist with rescue efforts in Ekta Nagar, Sinhgad Road, and Varje areas. Water levels in some areas are waist-high, and the Baba Bhide bridge is submerged.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has assessed the situation and instructed the district administration to remain vigilant.
