Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced new measures to curb VIP culture in the state. Additionally, Mr. Sarma has declared that government officials will be responsible for paying their own electricity bills, starting in July 2024. He believes these changes will help to eliminate the privileged treatment often afforded to VIPs.
