Security concerns heightened at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee following a string of incidents.
An armed man, wearing a ski mask and carrying a concealed AK-47 pistol and ammunition in his backpack, was arrested near the convention site. Police observed him behaving suspiciously. In a separate incident, a man was fatally shot by police after a knife fight near the convention.
These incidents follow a failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, where a 20-year-old man fired at Trump, injuring him in the ear.
Despite this recent threat and multiple legal challenges, Trump has secured the Republican presidential nomination and chosen J.D. Vance as his running mate. While Trump expresses confidence in winning the upcoming election, President Biden faces declining poll numbers and concerns over his health.
