Corey Comperatore, a 50-year-old firefighter and father of two, was tragically killed in a shooting at a Donald Trump rally in Pennsylvania.
Governor Josh Shapiro confirmed the victim’s identity, expressing condolences to his wife and two daughters. Comperatore was a dedicated church member, a firefighter, and a fervent supporter of Trump, known for his love of his community and family.
The shooting also left two other spectators injured, both local men who remain in critical condition. The shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was fatally shot by a Secret Service sniper.
Comperatore’s daughter, Allyson, described her father as a selfless hero who shielded her and her mother from the gunfire, sacrificing his own life to protect them.
Governor Shapiro honored Comperatore as a hero, ordering state flags to be flown at half-staff. A GoFundMe page set up to support the family has raised nearly $330,000.
