Nadir Shah, a gym owner in Delhi, was killed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The gang targeted Shah because he refused to pay a ₹5 crore extortion demand to his business partner, Kunal Chhabra, who ran illegal call centers. Shah, who was friends with South Delhi gangsters, had tried to negotiate with Bishnoi but failed.
Bishnoi, while in police custody, allegedly accused Shah of causing his torture and vowed revenge, demanding ₹10 crore instead. The Bishnoi gang, through its member Rohit Godara, used Shah’s friendship with South Delhi gangsters, who were enemies of Hashim Baba, to get Baba involved in the plot.
Baba, who is in Tihar Jail, recruited Randeep, a gangster from Azamgarh, who lives in the US. Randeep, in turn, brought in men from Azamgarh to carry out the murder. Baba also enlisted his jailmate Sameer Baba, who had been threatened by Shah in the past.
Four people, including three from Azamgarh and one from Haryana, have been arrested. Chhabra, Shah’s business partner, is in Dubai and has a warrant out for his arrest. Shah himself had a business in Dubai and was involved in criminal activities.
