A new Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) will examine the feasibility of “One Nation One Poll,” constitutionally amending to hold simultaneous national and state elections. The committee, including prominent members from the BJP (Anurag Thakur, Anil Baluni) and Congress (Priyanka Gandhi Vadra), as well as others like Sambit Patra, Supriya Sule, Shrikant Shinde, Manish Tewari, and Kalyan Banerjee, will comprise 21 Lok Sabha and 10 Rajya Sabha MPs. Their report is due by the first day of the last week of the next parliamentary session.
