Popular Sambalpuri singer Ruksana Bano, 27, passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar after being treated for Scrub Typhus. While hospital authorities haven’t revealed the exact cause of death, Ruksana’s family alleges she was poisoned by a rival singer from western Odisha. They claim Ruksana had received threats prior to her illness.

Ruksana fell ill after consuming juice during a shoot in Bolangir. She was hospitalized in Bhawanipatna, then transferred to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital in Bolangir, followed by a private hospital in Bargarh. Finally, she was brought to AIIMS Bhubaneswar as her condition worsened.

Ruksana’s mother and sister have released statements accusing a rival singer of poisoning her. The family’s claims have gained traction on social media, with the mother’s video message going viral.
