A soldier, Lance Naik Subash Kumar, was killed in a firefight with terrorists who attempted to infiltrate across the Line of Control in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning, marking the latest in a series of terrorist attacks in the region.

Kumar sustained injuries during the intense exchange of fire and later succumbed to them. Officials confirmed that the terrorists also suffered casualties.

The soldier’s body has been released to the Army after a post-mortem. Search operations are underway in the area.

Recent months have witnessed a surge in terrorist activity in Jammu, leading to concerns about the resurgence of militancy in the region.
